Hewicks Haulage provides specialist, high quality, fully accredited and assured feed products and associated transport services throughout the UK. 365 days a year, 24/7.
Founding owner, Chris Hewick, spent 20 years working in the pig industry, gaining invaluable knowledge about the animal feed sector, until he was made redundant in 2000.
2001 – using his redundancy package, Chris Hewick set up Hewicks Haulage Ltd purchasing two lorries. Working from a rented yard, two key people with specialist transport knowledge were employed to set the business up.
2007 – with the fleet now at 8 vehicles, the rented yard ( an old pig farm ) needed major improvements and was purchased from the owner. We moved out for 12 months and completely rebuilt a bespoke haulage yard with workshop, offices and concrete parking for 12 vehicles
2013 – Still increasing our fleet annually, we purchased a further 2 acres of land for additional lorry/trailer parking
2017 – Our fleet was now approximately 40 vehicles, and a further 1 acre was purchased to install a two-bay tank wash and additional parking.
2021 – more land was purchased to provide safe staff parking for up to 100 cars with a concrete road laid across for any future development. Our fleet now stood at 57 vehicles. We amalgamated with our sister trading company, Cave Liquid Haulage and took on the merchandising of co-products for animal feed,
2022- Hewicks Haulage Ltd formed an Employees Ownership Trust, enabling all our staff to have greater participation in the company.
